Traditionally oriental rugs are considered to be hand made rugs produced in Eastern countries. As far as we know, oriental rug weaving was for a long time under the influence of Muslim traditions, putting strict limitations on their pattern. Oriental rugs
were more of amulet than of decoration.
Traditional colours of oriental rugs are the colours of power and wealth, purple and gold combined with the green colour of life and a little bit of brown and black.
And traditional patterns are a medalion in the middle surrounded by its smaller symmetrical copies in the corners; bordered field of squareswith non repeated patterns in them such as Eden Gates or The Tree of Life.
